Manhattan College and Mount Saint Vincent Professor Perry Rizopoulos strolled down memory lane with his grandfather and turned their talks into words on pages.
Rizopoulos is a Bronx native who comes from a blended family with Greek and Italian roots. He took the memories and wrote the book "Wheat Songs." It's an enduring story that spans generations of family and the power of love within each page.
With each lesson, Rizopoulos hopes to inspire others to get in touch with their own roots.
"There is a proud and really historical and old Greek-American community in the Bronx that we are all very proud to be members of and the Italian of course same thing so I think watering our roots is something we take pride in," says Rizopoulos.
Rizopoulos says everyone should take pride in what they do.
