Police say two people are recovering after an accident on the Cross Bronx Expressway sent them to the hospital.
News 12 captured the aftermath as a large yellow dump truck ran into multiple trees Wednesday afternoon near exit 9.
Witnesses say the driver of that vehicle had to be removed and placed into an ambulance by a rescue team, using tools to pry open the door.
Another vehicle, a white SUV that appeared to belong to a Long Island-based Laundromat was also involved.
The driver of the smaller vehicle was able to walk himself to an ambulance that arrived on scene.
The owner of that laundromat says she believes the other driver suffered some sort of medical episode that caused the crash.
