New Bronx facility is American Family Cares' 200th location

American Family Care, a provider in urgent care, opened its 200th location Monday right here in the Bronx.
Dr. Bruce Irwin, the founder and CEO of AFC, says this is just another access point to health care. He's one of the people who thought of the concept of urgent care in the 1970s.
The clinic gave free flu shots to veterans during the observance of Veterans Day.
Officials say a big goal for the facility is to provide convenience for the patient in all aspects, including hours and accessibility.
The Bronx has been ranked the least healthy county in New York for the past several years.
The new location is the fourth location in the Bronx, but 200th total.
The clinic closes at 10 p.m. on weekdays.
