Food Bank of NYC distributes donated turkeys in the Bronx

The holiday season is coming up fast, and it is getting people in Wakefield in the spirit of giving.
Two-thousand donated turkeys were given out Wednesday across the five boroughs, starting in the Bronx. The first destination was Bronx Bethany Community Corporation, where 200 turkeys were unloaded.
Stop and Shop donated the turkeys, and Food Bank For New York City will distribute them to food pantries citywide.
Volunteers helped give the turkeys out to dozens waiting in line.
According to the food bank, one in five New Yorkers struggle to put food on the table.
Throughout the year, the food bank relies on 800 volunteers per week.
