Police: 15-year-old girl hit by bullet while crossing the street in Soundview

Police released photos of two suspects wanted in connection to the shooting of a 15-year-old girl Tuesday night in Soundview.
They say the girl was walking across the street with friends when she heard a gunshot and then felt pain in her back and realized she had been struck by a bullet.
The violence unfolded just after 8:30 p.m. on the corner of Manor Avenue and East 173rd Street, not far from a high school and public housing.
Police responded and rushed the teen to the hospital where she was treated for a bullet wound to her lower back.
Police are searching for two men connected to the shooting, both described as being 18 to 20 years old. They were last seen at the scene of the shooting wearing sweatshirts.
Police do not yet know if this was a random shooting or if the teen was the intended target.
The victim has been released from the hospital and is expected to be OK.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
