DOT parking meter rates surge in the Bronx

The city's parking meter adjustments have hit the Bronx and residents are not very happy about it.
For the first time since 2013, the Department of Transportation has increased parking meter rates.
The hikes will apply to both commercial and passenger vehicles.
The hikes began in September in Brooklyn, and have now started in the Bronx.
The amount due will be based on where in the Bronx the parking spot is, and what kind of vehicle is being parked.
People parking in Zone 2 will be paying $1.50 for parking.
However, most parts of the Bronx are in Zone 3, which is slightly cheaper at $1.25.
