Boogie Down Bites: Cka Ka Qellu

An authentic Albanian restaurant just behind Arthur Avenue is exposing customers to a new world with both food and old-style decor.
Cka Ka Qellu in Belmont transports diners back in time.
The Balkan atmosphere boasts photos from the 19th century with real artifacts dated back even earlier.
Traditional clothing hang the walls, including a wedding gown.
The items took the owner years to find, making it a mission every time he went to Albania and his homeland of Kosovo.
"Here is a piece of our history, our tradition, our culture. It's the history of our grandfathers,” says Elona Paja.
The chef prepares the food in an open kitchen and the grill exposed to diners.
The restaurant features a variety of Albanian dishes including Albanian-style cornbread, a Tridita mixed grilled meats platter and cheeses.
