SPCA: Driver tossed 2 kittens out of moving car

The Suffolk County SPCA says a driver tossed two kittens from the window of a moving car in Patchogue.
Authorities say someone sped through a stop sign at Buckley and Log roads and threw a kitten out of the driver-side window of a white sedan around 8:15 a.m. Monday. Seconds earlier, detectives say a woman found another kitten struggling in the middle of the street, just a block away at the intersection of Prince Street and Risley Road.
Detectives believe the kittens were thrown from the same vehicle.
Suffolk SPCA Chief Roy Gross says the person responsible faces felony animal cruelty charges that carry a penalty of up to four years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
The Suffolk SPCA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. Anyone with information can call the Suffolk SPCA at 631-382-7722.
