DEA: 3 arrested, cocaine seized after suspect rams federal agent’s vehicle

Authorities say three people were arrested Wednesday afternoon after a driver accelerated into a federal agent’s vehicle during a traffic stop made by drug investigators in Yonkers.
The agent’s vehicle was pushed back 10-15 feet at the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and Prospect Street.
An agent shot one round during the incident. It did not strike anyone.
According to Nicolas Palmeri, of the DEA, the suspects drove two blocks to Riverdale Avenue, where the driver, identified as Jamie Sostre-Martinez, 41, rammed into a parked car. The driver and the passengers were then arrested.
Authorities say a half-kilogram of cocaine was seized.
“We were conducting a long-term investigation into a cocaine distribution organization here in Yonkers and the Bronx area,” says Palmeri. “We're trying to take drugs off the street, bad guys off the street.”
The two other suspects have not yet been identified.
