Students at the South Bronx Academy for Applied Media received free haircuts Wednesday in time for the holidays.

Barbers and beauticians from the community showed up to the Morrisania school and gave the children whatever haircut they asked for.

School officials say the goal of the event is to show the students that the community has their backs, and to ensure that each child feels special during the holidays regardless of their circumstances.
