THE BRONX -

A 14-year-old male was stabbed in the right shoulder at Hostos-Lincoln Academy of Science Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the incident occurred just after 11 a.m. Police say a 13-year-old girl was taken into custody.

The victim was taken to New York City Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. He is expected to be OK.

A News 12 source says the incident began in the cafeteria in an argument over Snapchat. The source says the girl spit at the boy and the boy swung at her. The source say the girl then took out some sort of cutting object and sliced him.

The city Department of Education release a statement on the incident: "NYPD and EMS immediately responded to an incident this afternoon, and an individual was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Weapons of any kind have absolutely no place in our schools, and we are adding more security measures to this building."
