RIVERDALE -

Officials say two pedestrians were struck in Riverdale just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say the incident happened at 3240 Riverdale Ave.

Police say a 53-year-old male driver started coughing, which caused him to lose control of his vehicle, jump the curb and strike a 6-year-old girl and a 44-year-old male located on the sidewalk.

EMS transported the pedestrians to St. Barnabas Hospital. Officials say they are likely to survive.
