A 50-year-old man was attacked and robbed by four men near Yankee Stadium Monday in an incident that was caught on surveillance video.
Police say the victim was approached by the men outside 950 Anderson Ave. and tried to take his backpack. When the victim fought back, police say the men repeatedly punched and kicked the man and got away with his backpack.
Authorities say the only thing in the backpack was the victim’s identification card, keys and a pillow.
The 50-year-old man was taken to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was treated for head injuries and later released.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the attack to call police.
The incident follows another violent robbery in the borough. Earlier this week, a 77-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint of just $18 at the Sebco Senior Center on Southern Boulevard. The suspect in that case was arrested Wednesday.
