What would have been payday for many federal workers was another day without income as the government shutdown continues.
An estimated 800,000 federal workers on Friday saw zeroes on their pay stubs for the first time as the partial government shutdown moves toward its fourth week.
Beyond federal workers going unpaid, Bronx residents will feel the effects on their tax refunds, mortgage applications and in food assistance programs.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has said he might declare a state of emergency to override Congress' stalemate on funds for a U.S.-Mexico border wall.
