Police: Belmont woman arrested after allegedly fatally stabbing roommate

A woman from the Bronx is in custody after allegedly fatally stabbing a man who she shared an apartment with.

Police responded to the call after 4 a.m. Saturday to 692 East 182nd St.in Belmont.

When they got there, they found 22-year-old Rafael Garcia lying in the hallway with stab wounds to his torso.

Police also recovered the knife and arrested 30-year-old Rosemary Hernandez, who lists the same home address as the victim.

He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died on Sunday.
