Police find alligator, pot, weapons in Hauppauge home raid

Police say they found an alligator, marijuana and weapons in a raid on a suspected drug house in Hauppauge.
After executing a search warrant around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, police say they arrested three residents in the Cardinal Lane home. Joseph Pelosi, 22, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and a weapons offense; 27-year-old Christopher Oliveri faces criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana charges; and 51-year-old Gloria Pelosi was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Neighbors say they have complained to police for years about suspected drug dealing at the house.
During the search, police say they found a foot-long alligator that was being kept as a pet. The SPCA says it's illegal to have an alligator without a permit, as well as dangerous.
The alligator will be sent to a sanctuary in Massachusetts. News 12 is told that its owner faces a hefty fine for not having a permit.
The three suspects will be arraigned on Thursday.
