The city is preparing this weekend’s storm which is expected to begin tonight.
Huge salt and sand piles are on Zerega Avenue in the Bronx getting ready for the short blast of snow followed by icy cold temperatures.
Trucks are already spreading sand and salt to get a head start on the precipitation.
Plows will be dispatched if there are more than 2 inches of snow accumulations.
The Sanitation Department will have 695 salt spreaders throughout the five boroughs and will assign 2,300 workers to split 12 hour shifts through the weekend.
