Police: 2 suspects accused of beating man during robbery

CLAREMONT -

Police are searching for two men accused of beating a man during a robbery in Claremont.

Police say on Friday the suspects approached a 59-year-old man from behind on Boone Avenue.

They say that the men punched and kicked the victim, causing him to fall to the ground. Officials say the men then ran off with his wallet which contained $40.

The victim was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital and was treated for bruising and cuts to the head and body

Police say the suspects are believed to be between the ages of 20 and 30, and were last seen wearing dark clothing.
