You are never too young or too old to 'Dream Big.' That was the message given to elementary students Friday at Hostos Community College.
Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and actress Kerry Washington joined forces to take part in 'Dream Big Day.' The initiative was started by the Bronx Children's Museum to teach students that no dream is too big to achieve.
"If I could become a justice, you can too," says Sotomayor.
The kids got the chance to ask the Supreme Court justice questions like why she became a lawyer.
"I wanted to help people fix their problems because that's what the law does," says Sotomayor.
Both Sotomayor and Washington are from the Bronx. They reflected on their childhood memories and encouraged students to pursue their dreams.
"You are not anyone's sidekick," says Washington. "You are the star of your own story."
