Police: Teen found dead near freight train tracks

Authorities say a teenager's body was found near a stretch of freight train tracks Saturday morning in Port Morris. 

Police say they responded to call around 5:20 a.m. for a report of cardiac arrest near East 138th Street and Bruckner Boulevard. When they got to the scene, they found a male’s body.

News 12 is told his body was found near a freight train operated by CSX Railways.

The victim's identification is being withheld pending family notification.

News 12 reached out to CSX Railways for comment. In a statement, the company said in part, "A CSX train crew reported seeing a body near the tracks and is cooperating with NYPD as they investigate, and working to ensure the safety of the investigators working on railroad property.”
