Pop-up court coming this week to the 13th Council District

Pop-up court is coming to town for those living in the 13th Council District.
It can be frustrating to find the time to go to court and fight a summons. That's why the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) and Councilman Mark Gnojaj are bringing a pop-up court to his office.
OATH officials tell News 12 they sent out more than 300 letter to people in Councilman Gnojaj's district to let them know they are eligible to fight their summons at the pop-up court. Tickets that can be brought to the court include ones for sanitation, pest control and NYPD summons such as open containers and noise complaints.
"We're bringing access to their neighborhood and they just feel like they are in a safe place, and they come and there is usually no line," says Gnojaj. "It's very simple and easy just to take care of a ticket."
The pop-up court will be in both Spanish and English on January 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a pop-up court on February 28 in Soundview.
