Amazon will be setting up a new 120,000-square-foot delivery station in the Bronx to coincide with its new headquarters in Long Island City.
The delivery station was first reported by the Bronx Times.
An Amazon spokesperson told News 12 that the new station will speed up delivery times for borough residents. The spokesperson says packages will be shipped to the Bronx from other sites, and then head out for delivery.
Amazon says it will be hiring locally in the Bronx for the Hunts Point location, from full-time associates to independent contractors who can deliver on behalf of the company.
So far, there is no timeline for when the station will be up and running.
