Sex offender found with missing teen charged with rape

A registered sex offender who was found Saturday in Manhattan with a missing Bronx teen is now facing charges.
As News 12 reported, police say they found the missing 14-year-old on a train in Herald Square Saturday morning. They say she was with 35-year-old Anthony Ferdinand, a level 2 sex offender.
Police say a passenger had recognized the teen and alerted the train conductor, who then called the authorities.
The teen had originally been reported missing Thursday from her home on Bussing Avenue. News 12 is told that the teen's mother had found evidence that her daughter had a sexual interaction with Ferdinand, and when she confronted the teen, she took off.
Ferdinand is now facing charges of rape, criminal sex act, sexual abuse and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17.
He was arraigned on Sunday.
