Police are on the hunt for the person who shot a woman during a scuffle while she was sitting in a car Monday night.

Surveillance video from the scene shows a car pulling up behind an SUV on Monticello Avenue around 6 p.m. Then, someone from that car drags someone out of the SUV. During the ensuing scuffle between the two groups, a gunshot struck the 27-year-old woman in the back.

Police say it’s not clear yet if the woman was the intended target. There have been no arrests yet and the motive is still unknown.

Police are trying to determine whether the groups of people in each vehicle knew each other.

The victim was taken to New York City Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where she is in serious, but stable condition.

There are schools in the area that were not in session at the time of the incident.
