UNIONPORT -

A 32-year-old woman was robbed of $500 over the weekend while she was shopping at a Burlington Coat Factory in the Bronx.

The victim told police she was trying to free up her hands so she could try something on at the Soundview Burlington, but when she returned, her purse and all the belongings inside it were gone.

Police have arrested Paola Delgado-Motalvan, 41, in connection to the robbery and charged her with grand larceny.

They say the shopping trip and purse snatching happened this past Saturday just after 7 p.m.

The victim was shopping at the Soundview Burlington when she hung up her purse on a coat rack.

Her purse contained $500, credit and debit cards and some personal items.

Officials say this is a reminder to make sure to always keep personal belongings in view.
