Posted: Updated:
MORRIS HEIGHTS -

Police say the 12-year-old boy was attacked while walking into his apartment building on March 19 around 4 p.m.

Police say that the boy was randomly attacked after two unknown suspects approached him from behind and pinned him against a wall.

Then police say the two men threatened to shoot the young boy unless he handed over his cellphone, an iPhone 6+ that sells online for as little as $50.

Investigators tell News 12 there is no evidence the suspects pulled out a gun.

News 12 is told the two men fled toward 175th Street and Montgomery Avenue.

The boy was not hurt in the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
