Man slashes bodega employee in the face after trying to steal soft drinks

New video has been released of the suspect police say drew a box cutter on a bodega employee while trying to steal two drinks.

Police say that suspect took that box cutter and slashed a bodega employee in the face with it.

The suspect is seen walking inside the bodega when the cameras caught him on March 13 just before 6 p.m.

Officials tell News 12 a 23-year-old bodega employee tried to stop the male from stealing an orange juice and a Pepsi when he was slashed in the face by the suspect.

The worker was taken to the hospital and got 10 stitches on his left cheek.

The suspect is described as someone between the ages of 16 and 19 years old and around 5 feet 7 inches.

Anyone with information should call police.
