Police: 28-year-old fatally shot outside home on East 168th Street
The search is on for the suspects responsible for fatally shooting a man in Morrisania Wednesday.
Investigators tell News 12 there was some type of argument before 28-year-old Quamel Anderson was shot dead in front of a house along East 168 Street.
According to officials, the incident happened around 2 p.m.
News 12 is told the 28-year-old victim was standing in front of a house on the block when detectives say there was an altercation. It’s still unclear with who or how many people were involved, but sources say the victim was shot in the torso.
First responders rushed him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.
During the altercation, a 34-year-old man was also shot in the leg. Investigators say he walked to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln.
Police are working to figure out the connection between them. Officials say both victims are from Brooklyn.
People in the area say they saw two people arguing and then heard gunshots.
One of the supers of the building told News 12 he watched surveillance video and it appears the argument was between the 28-year-old victim that was killed and the 34-year-old man that was shot.
Neighbors say Anderson lived across the street and went by the nickname "Black."
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
