PARKCHESTER -

A woman is wanted for attempting to steal from a mosque in the Bronx.

The incident, which was all caught on surveillance video, happened on March 29 at the mosque on St. Peters and Frisby avenues.

Police say she posed as a member of the mosque to gain access. That’s when the video shows someone from inside the mosque open the door allowing her inside.

She is then seen waiting for the member to leave the room before she tries to crack open a donation box.

Police say when she realized she couldn’t open the box she left.

The woman police are looking for was last seen wearing all black with a neon backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
