New advanced art program gives students opportunity to showcase work

For the first time this year, there is an advanced studio art program at Renaissance High School for Musical Theater and the Arts on the Lehman Campus.
Teacher Sai Varadan is at the helm, guiding some students with aspirations to become professional artists someday and others for whom art is a valuable hobby.
Students' work has already been showcased at art galleries at Columbia University and sold to buyers. The class expects to showcase more of its work later this spring at New York University, as well as during the upcoming Bronx Arts Festival.
