Some bodega owners say they are struggling to keep their doors open because of fines from the city and state.
The State Liqueur Authority tells News 12 that action is taken against owners who do not follow the laws, and fines and suspension are issued to send a clear message. Violations include selling alcohol to minors.
Bodega owners say they are just trying to serve their community and want politicians and policy makers to spend a day in their shoes.
