Residents get free reusable bags for Earth Day

In honor of Earth Day, a local assemblywoman gave out dozens of reusable bags encouraging a more sustainable borough and helping residents get ready for the plastic bag ban.

In honor of Earth Day, a local assemblywoman gave out dozens of reusable bags encouraging a more sustainable borough and helping residents get ready for the plastic bag ban.

Residents headed over to Assemblywoman Latoya Joyner's officer to get the eco-friendly bags.

New York City Council passed a 5-cent fee on paper bags once the plastic bags are banned on March 1, 2020.
