NYPD treats seniors to a spa day

CASTLE HILL -

Seniors at the Castle Hill Houses received a special treat from New York's Finest when their community center was transformed into a beauty parlor.

Vendors from Tremont volunteered to beautify the tenants as they prepared for a big party that will be held Friday -- the final event in their Senior Week.

The event is organized by the NYPD's Police Service Area 8 officers. Capt. Keiyon Ramsey says they wanted to treat the seniors.

"We thought about having a great spa day to show our appreciation to our seniors, which is our most vulnerable population," says Ramsey.

The seniors say it was more than just a day of pampering, it was also a great way for the community to be involved with police.
