Police: Man wanted in connection to knifepoint robbery in Kingsbridge

KINGSBRIDGE -

Police are looking for a man who robbed a woman of her cellphone at knifepoint in Kingsbridge.

It happened around 9 p.m. Friday. According to police, the suspect followed the 33-year-old woman into the foyer of her apartment building near West 192nd Street and University Avenue.

That's when he placed a knife to the woman's neck and demanded her iPhone, police say.

The suspect is described as being between 17 and 22 years old. He had braids in his hair and was last seen wearing white Air Jordan 9 sneakers, a gray sweater and black jeans that had a hole by the knee.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
