The mother of Lesandro "Junior" Guzman Feliz says this Mother's Day was a heartbreaking holiday to spend without her son.
It's been 11 months since Junior was killed in a brutal attack outside the Belmont bodega. His loss captured worldwide attention, but for his mother Leandra Feliz, the world stopped without him.
She says the best gift she could ask for would be to see his smile once again.
"I had a dream that he was coming to me and he was walking to me, and I feel like God let him visit me on Mother's Day, she says.
She spent part of Mother's Day fixing the flowers on his tombstone. She found a box there - left by a stranger - who said they were moved so much by their story and wanted to provide some peace on the painful day.
