CLAREMONT -

Detectives are looking for a man in his mid-20s after a 20-year-old man was shot in the leg near a playground Wednesday.

Authorities say the incident happened around 10 p.m. on Fulton Avenue near Drew Playground.

Police had a section of the park closed off and found one bullet casing they collected for evidence.

Investigators say the shooting happened after an argument between the two individuals that escalated when one pulled out a gun.

A father who lives across the street from the park says his children were shaking when they heard shots fired.

The 20-year-old victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital.

The victim told News 12 he does not know the man who shot him but that he’s home and recovering.

Police are continuing to investigate.
