LIRR: Montauk branch service restored following derailment
The LIRR says service has been restored on the Montauk branch Monday following a derailment in Speonk.
News 12 is told two locomotives and a passenger train were involved in a slow speed crash on Saturday, which caused service to be suspended.
No injuries were reported. Officials say the derailment caused extensive track damage.

The LIRR ran buses from Patchogue to Hampton Bays and a shuttle train to and from Montauk.
The LIRR is operating on a holiday schedule.
