American Red Cross recommends swim lessons as summer season approaches

NEW YORK -

Memorial Day Weekend marks the opening of New York City beaches and with the warm weather swimmers are sure to be out in the waters taking a dip. News 12 spoke with swim instructors about safety tips ahead of beach and pool season.

The BronxWorks Aquatics program provides swim lessons to Bronx residents throughout the year, serving approximately 650 people with 2,000 different swimming sessions each year. 

Classes are available for beginning, intermediate and advanced swimmers with American Red Cross certification upon successful completion.
