Police: 3 men violently rob 24-year-old outside his Melrose apartment

MELROSE -

Police are searching for three people who violently robbed a 24-year-old man in Melrose last week.

The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. on May 24, when police say the victim was walking to his apartment building near East 151st Street and Courtlandt Avenue.

That is when three unidentified individuals came up to him, pushed the victim to the ground and began to beat him, officials say.

One person displayed a knife, as another took the victim's wallet before fleeing northbound on Courtlandt Avenue, according to police.

The men got away with $300 cash.

Authorities tell News 12 the victim is recovering from bruising and swelling to
his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
