Police say a fight between two women in Fordham led to a stabbing near a school shortly before 4 p.m.

The incident occurred at Field Place and Morris Avenue.

Police say a woman was stabbed in the abdomen during the dispute. They say the other woman is in custody. 

The crime scene remained active into the evening as investigators swept the area for evidence.
