Mott Haven tenants complain of monthslong elevator outages

Tenants in Mott Haven say their building has been plagued by chronic elevator outages for months.
Jemsika Mirabito says she's lived at 130 Willis Ave. for more than 10 years and has gone without a working elevator for seven months.
Some residents say the outage forces them to walk up to six flights of stairs. One says they need the elevator because they had knee surgery; another has to carry their daughter up and down the stairs.
Steven Brown, president of building management company Sobro, told News 12 that heavy rains caused the elevator to break -- but only three weeks ago. Residents disagree and maintain that it's been seven months.
Department of Buildings records show 20 complaints dating back a year. Brown admits there have been intermittent issues.
