The first Bronx LGBT Expo was held in Port Morris Saturday in celebration of World Pride Month.
Bronx Barx transformed its usual dog day care center to celebrate the occasion.
"It's amazing--it's surreal--I can't believe it's happening," said event organizer, Jose Ramon. "It's just extraordinary."

The day featured events including a short LGBT film and forum, drag performances, red carpet photo ops, food and rainbow decor.
The event focused on the Stonewall 50 commemorations, mental health and the stigmas associated with being in the LGBTQ community. Participants had the opportunity to talk about issues that often get overlooked in society.
Jose Ramon, coordinator of the event, says he wants to have more expos that will be bigger and better.
