EAST TREMONT -

A 13-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection to the robbery of three cab drivers in East Tremont.

Police say the first incident happened on June 8 where the teen and three other men got into an off-duty driver’s cab on Mapes Avenue and demanded money. They say the four made off with the driver’s cellphone and the car’s center console.

Authorities say two other drivers were robbed in the areas of Crotona Park North and East 181st Street. In both cases, police say the driver was put in a chokehold by the 13-year-old suspect while the others took over $200 in cash and other items.

The teen was charged with robbery and criminal obstruction of breathing.

The NYPD has released pictures of the three other suspects.
