Bronx Salutes America returns to Orchard Beach

The "Bronx Salutes America" spectacle was back and in full swing in Orchard Beach Thursday night.
Organizers say they expected close to 40,000 Bronx residents to come out for the fireworks show after sundown, all in honor of Independence Day next week.
The annual event is hosted this year by Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and Councilman Mark Gjonaj.
The event is filled with other activities, like face-painting and live music. Ticketed guests enjoyed a buffet dinner, while fireworks and live performances are free.
