TREMONT -

Police say they're searching for a suspect who assaulted a 55-year-old man while riding a city bus in the Bronx on July 2.

They say the incident happened just after 11 p.m. Police say the man approached the victim while riding the Bx36 bus on East 180th Street.

Officials say for seemingly no reason, the man started to attack the victim and punched him multiple times in the face. The suspect then jumped off and ran away.

The victim then got off the bus and took himself to the hospital. He says he was treated for losing eight teeth during the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
