The Red Cross says two families were displaced after a massive fire broke out in Mount Hope Saturday.
Officials say three firefighters were injured while battling the fire in extreme temperatures. The fire chief tells News 12 over 190 firefighters responded to the scene, and they had to rotate them out to not risk heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
Officials say the building the fire broke out in was a two-story mixed-use building that had apartments on the top and businesses on the bottom.
Fire officials say they got the call around 6 p.m. and got the fire under control around 10 p.m.
They say they will be reevaluating the scene Sunday morning.
