Parkgoers keep hydrated, out of the sun during scorching temperatures

People took extra precautions to stay cool and hydrated during Tuesday's scorching hot temperatures.

The few people who ventured out to the playground at Soundview Park said they made sure to drink a lot of water and sit in the shade. They also said they were pouring water on the slide to make sure it wasn't scalding hot when kids went down.

Officials encouraged people to drink a lot of fluids and to stay inside, if possible.
