A Bronx rapper with some big dreams is finally releasing music after years of hard work, with the hope of energizing the borough.
Butta Blocks says he is all about energy.

"I'm here for the youth, I'm here to motivate and bring energy. And that's what I'm about. To bring that energy,” says Butta Blocks.

The rapper is from the Riverdale and Kingsbridge sections of the borough and has been working on his craft for years.
He says he's inspired by some of the biggest names in hip-hop to come out of the Bronx and is more motivated than ever to get his music out there.

"I just see myself in a higher position and just helping the youth and my community."

His upcoming project is called “Listen Before You Judge,” and it's exactly what he wants listeners to do.
He says he wants to use his skills to elevate others and to give back to people who grew up like he did.

"I want them to be motivated. I want them to see this is possible; someone who lives here that surrounds them that can do the same thing to get here too," says Butta Blocks.

Butta Blocks says he is just getting started. His music can be streamed online on most digital services.
"I just want my community to come back together. Everybody pushes as one,” Butta Blocks.
