Department of Building gives tips ahead of scattered thunderstorms, heavy winds

Despite the warning of severe weather, it appears just rain and wind is on tap for Tuesday.

It is still advised to take precaution before heading out for the day and making sure to grab the umbrellas.

The Department of Buildings has warned property owners, contractors and crane operators to take precautionary measures during possible high winds later in the day.

For people's homes, the Department of Buildings has some tips.

The department says to bring loose, lightweight objects, such as lawn furniture, potted plants, and garbage cans inside, close up and secure patio umbrellas and to remove aerial antennas and satellite dishes.
