Posted: Updated:

Police say a man is in critical condition after he was struck by a car Sunday afternoon in Claremont.

They say the man was hit on Clay Avenue, and that the driver who hit him fled the scene.

Surveillance video from a bodega across the street captures the moment that the black Audi hit the 32-year-old man as he was crossing Clay Avenue near East 170th Street. The person next to him, believed to be his brother, is seen running to help him.

The victim is currently in critical condition at St. Barnabas Hospital.
